REMINDER

Dogs participating in the C & C Pawsome Place program must be up-to-date on the following vaccinations: Distemper (A), Hepatitis (B), Parvo (B), Para Influenza (A), and Rabies (R) (valid for 1-3 years). While Bordetella is optional, it is strongly recommended. Additionally, Giardia prevention is also advised. It is mandatory for all dogs to undergo monthly flea prevention treatment.

FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS

If your pet is prone to gastrointestinal issues or on a special diet, please be sure to bring your own food as a sudden change in diet may worsen these issues or cause diarrhea.

(Please use cups as measurement. If your pet is free fed, please indicate how many cups are fed per day)

WHAT TO ANTICIPATE WHEN BRINGING YOUR DOG HOME:

Hydration:

Upon returning home, your dog is likely to be quite excited, leading to increased thirst. Offer a small amount of water or ice cubes within the first half-hour, avoiding excessive intake to prevent potential stomach upset.

Mealtime:

Ensure your dog has a calm and cool resting place before being fed or engaging in any strenuous activities. We recommend waiting at least one hour before feeding your dog upon their return.

Paw Licking:

It is common for dogs to lick their paws following their time with us. This behavior is typically associated with sore pads resulting from a day of energetic activity. While blisters may occasionally develop, these usually resolve within a day or two.

Rest:

Your dog may exhibit signs of fatigue and appear lethargic or "stiff" upon arrival home. This is a normal response to a day filled with play and interaction with other dogs. There is no need for concern, as your furry friend will likely return to their energetic self within a day or two.

You may pack your dog’s food and any necessary medication, as well as any toys or blankets that will make them feel more at home. We provide bedding and bowls for all dogs in our care, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. We recommend maintaining your pet's usual diet during their stay. Please bring enough of their regular food at check-in; otherwise, we'll provide Taste of Wild Dry Food. If you bring your pet's food, we can store, freeze, or refrigerate it. No extra charge for special food prep. Avoid treats with rawhide or choking hazards. If no dietary preference, we offer our standard in-house food. Ideally, let your dog adjust to our feeding times—options for once, twice, or three times a day. Limit your pet's food on the arrival day due to excitement. Also, restrict food and water for the first hour or two after returning home to help them settle down.
